Strategic Results is seeking a Web Content Specialist to support the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Office of Research, Development, and Technology (RD&T) by developing, maintaining, and publishing web content that communicates transportation research, technology, and program information to internal and external audiences. The Web Content Specialist will work collaboratively with Government staff, technical writers, editors, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists to ensure web content is accurate, current, well organized, and aligned with FHWA communications objectives.
The ideal candidate is an organized communications professional with experience managing website content who can present complex technical information in a clear, user-friendly format while maintaining content quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, update, and maintain website content supporting FHWA research and technology programs.
· Coordinate the review, approval, and publication of web content with Government staff and project teams.
· Organize web content to improve usability, readability, and accessibility for a variety of audiences.
· Edit and format content for publication on FHWA websites and digital platforms.
· Coordinate updates to webpages to ensure information remains current and accurate.
· Collaborate with technical writers, editors, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists to develop integrated digital communications products.
· Review web content for consistency, formatting, and compliance with established editorial and branding standards.
· Coordinate publication schedules for web updates and digital communications.
· Support the incorporation of graphics, documents, videos, and other digital assets into web content.
· Maintain web content inventories and assist with periodic content reviews.
· Monitor assigned webpages and coordinate revisions as needed.
· Participate in project planning meetings and provide updates on web content activities.
· Maintain organized electronic files and documentation supporting website updates.
· Recommend improvements that enhance website organization, navigation, and user experience.
Qualifications
Required:
· Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field, and 5+ years of experience.
· Demonstrated experience developing, editing, or maintaining website content.
· Experience organizing information for digital audiences.
· Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
· Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and website content management systems.
Preferred:
· Experience supporting Federal Government websites or digital communications.
· Experience supporting technical, scientific, engineering, or research organizations.
· Familiarity with website content management systems and digital publishing workflows.
· Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and web accessibility best practices.
· Experience coordinating digital communications with writers, editors, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists..
