Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Web Content Manager overseas, plans, creates, tracks and publishes all content on our website.
  • This role will be the in-house expert on our website, which is housed on WordPress, providing advice on how to achieve the goals of various teams.
  • Help to create a plan for website content, including adding new content and refreshing old content, to ensure the website material stays consistent and avoids sprawl.
  • They will also track performance to make data driven recommendations and be the resident SEO/GEO expert to optimize content.
  • Website content: Create and maintain a master calendar for web content to ensure the needs of the organization are met while also maintaining consistent standards and information architecture.
  • Provide guidance and updates the website in response to web service requests, internal editorial needs and fundraising calendars. This includes, but is not limited to creating new pages, blogs, forms and products.
  • Develops and owns the website governance model, ensuring the structure is maintained over time and prevents degradation and site sprawl.
  • Upholds and maintains existing brand, content standards and guidelines across all of the organization’s web properties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or related work experience, and 5-8 years of professional experience in website management or related work.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and experience organizing, posting and archiving web content, using the taxonomy and content classifications.
  • An understanding of CRM integrations, especially Salesforce.
  • Basic understanding of HTML.
  • Knowledge of SEO and A/GEO best practices, experience with keyword research and competitive analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and provide guidance across teams and with outside agencies and consultants to achieve best results.
  • Genuine interest in the international development and humanitarian assistance sector.

Preferred

  • Background in nonprofits preferred.
