Volunteer Communications Director

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a communications plan and editorial calendar across social media, video, written content, and the website.
• Shape a consistent ministry voice that tactfully educates about sexual sin, shares stories of redemption and restoration with appropriate consent, and points people toward hope in Christ.
• Lead the existing two-person social media team and coordinate contributors such as video editors, writers, and web designers as needed.
• Oversee the creation, review, scheduling, and publication of social posts, videos, articles, blogs, testimonies, resources, and calls to action.
• Partner with the Founder and Executive Director on messaging for speaking engagements, advocacy, In the Light, and restoration ministry.
• Coordinate website content and design needs with the Executive Director during the transition, then assume day-to-day website management when that responsibility is formally transferred.
• Monitor engagement and content performance, share concise updates with the Executive Director, and adjust priorities based on what is working.

Requirements

• Experience leading communications, content strategy, digital marketing, or a related function; nonprofit or ministry experience is helpful.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt a clear voice across platforms and content formats.
• Ability to guide volunteers or creative contributors, assign work, provide feedback, and keep a practical publishing schedule.
• Working familiarity with social platforms, basic performance measures, and website content workflows. Hands-on web design or coding is not required.
• Alignment with the Christian mission of Redeem These Ashes and sound judgment with sensitive stories, including privacy, consent, and leadership review before publication.
