Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy and Market Positioning
  • - Develop and lead the US brand strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise brand direction and US business priorities.
  • - Define and evolve brand positioning, messaging, and value proposition to support awareness, consideration, and trust among target audiences.
  • - Ensure consistency and quality of brand application across campaigns, channels, client touchpoints, and communications.
  • - Identify opportunities to strengthen CIBC’s reputation and presence in the US market through differentiated brand and storytelling strategies.
  • Integrated Marketing
  • - Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing programs that support business growth, client acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • - Oversee multi-channel marketing initiatives across all the channels such as digital, social, email, events, sponsorships, content, paid media.
  • - Partner with business leaders and functional teams to translate business priorities into effective marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • - Monitor marketing effectiveness and optimize plans based on performance, insights, and evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • University degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; advanced degree considered an asset.
  • Extensive senior leadership experience in brand strategy, marketing, communications, or corporate affairs, preferably within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Strong knowledge of integrated marketing, brand management, executive communications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic communications and marketing programs that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align brand and communications strategies with enterprise and line-of-business priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messaging.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across senior leadership teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience managing agency relationships, budgets, governance processes, and performance measurement.
  • Strong leadership capability, including experience building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Financial services experience is preferred, with knowledge of regulated environments and reputational risk considerations considered an asset.
