Job Summary

Own cross-functional marketing and communications leadership that shapes Regis’s reputation, guides executive storytelling, and aligns enrollment and brand growth across channels and audiences.

  • Brand & Reputation: steward messaging, content, and media relations; lead crisis comms and executive communications.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Thought Leadership: partner with the President and Cabinet on vision, external relations, and platform development for speeches and op-eds.
  • Market Insight & Enrollment Alignment: collaborate with Enrollment Management to identify demand, target new markets, and launch programs with data-driven plans.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the university’s integrated marketing and communications function offering support for Regis’ mission and characteristics to audiences worldwide.
  • Partner with the President and senior staff on envisioning and implementing bold communications, marketing, public relations, external and government relations strategies.
  • Provide thought leadership to develop and amplify the Regis brand and reputation to help reach university goals.
  • Serve as the President's lead public relations advisor, shaping a thought leadership platform and speeches, op-eds, and other major communications.
  • Act as a thought partner with Cabinet members on annual goals and strategies.
  • Support initiation, oversight, and evaluation of institutional relationships to maximize partnerships.
  • Provide strategic counsel on institutional reputation, issues management, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify market demand with Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management, target new markets, and develop enrollment and marketing plans to launch new programs.
  • Ensure consistency of image, tone, and content across all Regis communications to elevate perception of Regis education and advance priorities.
  • Enhance name recognition and branding by refining core messages and evaluating opportunities to deepen Regis’ reputation.
  • Use market research, audience insights, and performance analytics to inform decisions and measure effectiveness.
  • Serve as primary contact with external agencies and media, and act as the official spokesperson for Regis College.
  • Lead all public relations initiatives, including building relationships to increase earned media and distributing press materials and speeches.
  • Oversee strategic planning and implementation of PR, including expanding the university’s digital footprint through media outreach.
  • Collaborate with university leadership to position new and reposition existing programs to maximize enrollments.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing messages to attract prospective students across all programs.
  • Partner with Enrollment Management to align marketing with recruitment and enrollment goals.
  • Cultivate key institutional relationships with boards, advisory groups, and alumni networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience leading integrated marketing, communications, public relations, brand management, and market analysis in higher education or related environment.
  • Progressive leadership experience with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
  • Deep understanding of today’s competitive higher education landscape.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to motivate diverse teams.
  • Ability to build a collegial work environment and align marketing, PR, and partnerships with institutional objectives.
  • Strategic thinker who can execute in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Skilled storyteller with experience crafting messaging across print, digital, and social platforms, including executive communications.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders in developing innovative communications and marketing plans for broad audiences.
  • Broad knowledge of communications platforms and practices with digital and social media expertise.
  • Understanding of audiences including graduate students, adult learners, and undergraduates.
  • Judgment and diplomacy in complex situations, capable of motivating and persuading others.
  • Ability to negotiate communications across multi-generational audiences and reflect Regis’ mission and values.
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence and understanding of the impact of communications on diverse constituencies.
  • Data-informed decision maker with experience in KPI development and ROI assessment.
  • Strong budget management to optimize resource allocation.

  • An advanced degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.
