Job Description

Responsibilities

Lead market, category, and competitive intelligence to inform strategic choices around positioning, pricing, experience design, and expansion priorities
Identify structural growth opportunities and risks based on consumer behavior, competitive dynamics, and industry trends
Challenge assumptions and advocate for strategic clarity, focus, and trade off decisions at the executive level
Support executive and board level planning with forward looking insights, scenarios, and strategic implications
Own the enterprise voice of customer strategy, ensuring consumer insight is foundational to brand, experience, and growth decisions
Establish a cohesive consumer learning agenda that integrates qualitative insight, behavioral patterns, and longitudinal understanding of member needs
Define and evolve member segments, needs states, and lifecycle frameworks that guide enterprise prioritization
Translate consumer understanding into clear strategic direction, not isolated research outputs
Ensure leadership teams have the right insight at the right altitude to make informed strategic decisions
Oversee analytics and performance measurement as an enablement function, not an end in itself

Requirements

EXPERIENCE
15 or more years of experience in consumer strategy, insights, brand strategy, or related leadership roles
Demonstrated tenure operating at the Vice President level within complex, consumer facing organizations
Proven experience shaping multi-year marketing, brand, or growth strategy in subscription, membership, or recurring revenue businesses
Strong track record of influencing C suite and board level stakeholders
Experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, or multi-unit consumer services strongly preferred
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Enterprise level strategic thinker with experience operating beyond functional silos
Strong external orientation with the ability to synthesize consumer, competitive, and category signals
Comfortable making recommendations with incomplete information and long-term implications
Executive Presence and Partnership
Confident, credible, and constructive challenger to senior leadership
Exceptional communicator capable of translating complexity into decisive strategic direction
Proven ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
Insight Fluency
Deep appreciation for consumer insight and analytics without needing to operate as a technical expert
Experience guiding teams that leverage data, research, and modeling to inform strategy
