Job Summary

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead a newly centralized communications function, serving as chief storyteller, brand steward, and communications strategist across all internal teams and external audiences — and as a genuine peer to other senior leaders and trusted thought partner to the CEO.
  • Reporting to President & CEO Chris LaTondresse, the Vice President of Communications will design and lead a newly centralized communications function, serving as chief storyteller, brand steward, and communications strategist across all internal teams and external audiences — and as a genuine peer to other senior leaders and trusted thought partner to the CEO.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience as a communications professional, having served as the primary communications decision-maker in a complex organization.
  • Background in media, journalism, or public affairs strongly preferred; experience as a reporter or broadcast media professional is a plus.
  • Strong digital communications fluency across social media, email platforms, video production, and digital asset creation.
  • Mission fluency, with genuine understanding of or eagerness to learn the complexities of affordable and supportive housing.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating crisis communications and high-stakes external situations.
  • Experience working in or alongside nonprofit, public sector, or mission-driven organizations preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience as a reporter or broadcast media professional is a plus.
  • BA/MA in journalism, strategic communications, or public relations welcome but not required.
