Job Summary

Own cross-channel copy with a tight branded voice, collaborating with design and product teams to shape messaging for launches and campaigns, while staying plugged into trends so copy stays relevant.

  • Copy Ownership: Write and refine on-brand copy for digital, social, retail, and print, aligned with creative and product input.
  • Campaign Messaging & Launches: Help craft messaging for global product launches and seasonal storytelling, ensuring consistency across touchpoints.
  • Brand Voice & Quality: Maintain tone guidelines and ensure accuracy, grammar, and consistency across all consumer-facing materials.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support Copy Development: Assist in writing clear, engaging, and on-brand copy for a variety of marketing channels including digital, social, retail, and print.
  • Collaborate with Creative Teams: Work closely with designers, art directors, and other creatives to ensure copy and visuals align seamlessly across campaigns.
  • Contribute to Campaign Messaging: Help develop messaging for global product launches, seasonal campaigns, and brand storytelling initiatives.
  • Maintain Brand Voice: Ensure all copy adheres to the brand’s tone, voice, and messaging guidelines across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Become a Product Expert: Partner with product and merch teams to help create a cross-functional workflow that keeps copy accurate and up-to-date.
  • Participate in Brainstorms: Bring fresh ideas and creative thinking to team brainstorms and concept development sessions.
  • Edit and Proofread: Review and refine copy for clarity, grammar, and consistency, supporting quality control across deliverables.
  • Stay Culturally and Creatively Informed: Keep up with industry trends, cultural moments, and competitor activity to inform relevant and resonant copywriting.

  • Strong Writing and Editing Skills – Ability to craft clear, engaging, and grammatically sound copy that aligns with brand voice and tone.
  • Creative Thinking – A passion for storytelling and the ability to generate fresh, original ideas that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Attention to Detail – Precision in grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as consistency in tone and messaging across platforms.
  • Collaboration and Communication – Comfort working in a team environment and communicating effectively with designers, marketers, and other stakeholders.
  • Adaptability – Ability to shift between different types of writing (e.g., campaign headlines, product descriptions, social captions) and respond to feedback constructively.
  • Time Management – Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity and Cultural Awareness – A keen interest in trends, pop culture, and consumer behavior to help inform relevant and resonant messaging.
  • Basic Understanding of Marketing and Branding – Familiarity with how copy supports broader marketing goals and contributes to a cohesive brand experience.
  • Location requirement: This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of our HQ in Costa Mesa, CA 3 days a week.
