Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support and assistance for training, customer inquiries, engineering review, specifications review, presentations, quotations, and R&D.
  • Develops marketing, sales and application engineers' product and application knowledge, training programs, and assists in their growth through field installations. Also prepares new product promotion literature.
  • Maximizes lining design concepts with a balanced product portfolio and shape standards.
  • Drives product rationalization in responsible market segments based on sales, ideal lining concepts, and market situations.
  • Develops research plans for new product development.
  • Develops new product promotion materials and solicits field trial candidates.
  • Offers strategic customers sales and technical support.
  • Develops competitive marketplace strategies.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering, such as Ceramics, Chemical, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field.
  • MBA and/or higher engineering degree such as master/PhD helpful
  • Requires skilled knowledge in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Requires knowledge of refractory products, installation requirements, customer processes, marketplace conditions, estimating and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Minimum of five years (5), preferably ten(10) years technical refractory experience, preferably in steel ladle applications. Must have five(5) years refractory product experience involving installation, research and new product development.
  • Physical Activity: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time sitting and talking / hearing; and less than 1/3 of time standing, walking, using hands and fingers.

  • Environment: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time working in an office setting; less than 1/3 of time working in wet/humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, exposed to extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electric shock.
