Job Summary

Own early market discovery and messaging for Petropt's energy AI platform, focusing on research-driven buyer insights, clear technical positioning, and rapid learning from conversations.

Research energy companies, technical buyers, and market segments to shape ICPs and use cases.
Draft technical marketing content and product narratives to test messaging with engineers and buyers.
Support early GTM experiments and capture learnings from customer conversations to refine positioning.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Research energy companies, technical buyers, and market segments
Help identify potential customer profiles and use cases
Support customer discovery and organize learnings from conversations
Draft technical marketing content, LinkedIn posts, and short product narratives
Help improve messaging, positioning, and website copy
Support early go-to-market experiments and outreach preparation
Research competitors and adjacent products at a high level

Requirements

Petroleum engineering, energy, geoscience, engineering, CS, or data science
MBA/business with a technical or energy background
Product marketing, market research, GTM, consulting, technical sales, or startup experience
Strong writing and research skills
Interest in energy, AI, technical software, B2B SaaS, or startups
Comfortable with LinkedIn, spreadsheets, online research, and AI tools
Organized, reliable, and able to work independently with weekly direction
Part-time: 8–10 hours/week
Remote, Bay Area preferred
