Job Summary

The Multimedia internship at ACLU supports production of the in-house podcast and videos, involving research, script drafting, transcription, editing, and on-site production tasks. Requirements include being a matriculated undergraduate student in the U.S. with strong writing and research skills and experience in audio/video editing. The internship runs full-time for 10 weeks, with a start date around May 26 or June 8.

Responsibilities

  • The Multimedia intern is an integral member of the team, assisting with production of the ACLU’s in-house podcast as well as videos.
  • Interns will conduct research, draft scripts and paper edits, transcribe and review interview footage, edit videos, assist on shoots and interviews, and participate in brainstorms and meetings.
  • Podcast: Work closely with producer and hosts of ACLU’s in-house podcast
  • Pitch topics and provide background research for each episode
  • Assist with remote and in-person episode tapings
  • Manage and edit podcast taping transcripts and prepare publish packaging for podcast episodes
  • Video: Research video topics, draft scripts, review and transcribe video footage
  • Edit short videos for social media, if able, and help copyedit video content
  • Assist with remote or in-person video recording sessions or photo shoots
