Job Description

Responsibilities

  • own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings
  • support the marketing and publicity team with projects
  • Attend marketing and publicity meetings
  • proofread marketing and publicity materials
  • assist with marketing and publicity related mailings
  • draft email pitches and other press materials
  • research new media contacts and social media influencers
  • track and record media coverage and circulate weekly publicity reports
  • assist with planning and creating digital, photo, and video content for Orbit social channels

Requirements

  • Interest in exploring a career in science-fiction and fantasy publishing
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and excited about discussing recent books you’ve read
  • Possess a great attitude and a desire to learn as well as excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute insights
  • Resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently
  • Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
