Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Student Communications Strategy & Implementation (45%)
  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of communications that support continuing students throughout their enrollment experience.
  • - Develop, coordinate, and implement communications across email, websites, digital displays, print, forms, and other communication platforms.
  • - Serve as the primary communications partner for Financial Aid & Scholarships, the Office of the Registrar, One Stop Student Services, Student Financial Services, collegiate partners, and other campus offices by developing clear, timely, and student-centered communications across multiple communication channels.
  • - Translate complex policies, deadlines, and administrative processes into communications that are easy for students to understand and act upon.
  • - Coordinate and manage recurring communication cycles and workflows, annual calendars, content review cycles, and operational communication processes to ensure information remains timely, accurate, and aligned across enrollment services.
  • - Review and recommend improvements to communication strategies that reduce student confusion, encourage timely action, and improve the student experience.
  • - Develop and coordinate communications related to enrollment processes, financial aid & scholarships, registration, billing, academic deadlines, student services, and other continuing student initiatives.
  • - Maintain consistency across student-facing communications by coordinating messaging, reviewing content, and helping ensure alignment with University and campus brand, accessibility compliance, and communication standards.
  • - Develop communication plans for new initiatives, policy changes, and student service improvements in collaboration with enrollment and campus partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Writing, Public Relations, English, Digital Media, or a related field plus at least two years of relevant professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience totaling six years.
  • Experience developing communications across multiple digital and print channels.
  • Strong written, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience working in higher education, enrollment management, student services, or a similarly complex organization.
  • Experience developing communications that simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing communications for operational or service-oriented units.
  • Experience coordinating communication calendars and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse functional areas.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, and student-centered communications that comply with digital accessibility requirements, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience using Drupal or a comparable CMS (HTML and CSS knowledge is a plus)
  • Experience creating and maintaining email communications using CRM (customer relationship management) email marketing platforms such as Salesforce or Technolutions Slate
  • Experience using website analytics to improve communications and digital content.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
