Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Designing assets for social media content including graphics, reels and captions
  • Scheduling & publishing content on Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn
  • Tracking analytics and drawing conclusions from them for how to improve content performance
  • Researching current social media trends, especially in peer alumni programs at other universities
  • Contributing creative ideas for how to increase and sustain social media engagement
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages and inquiries on social media platforms promptly and professionally
  • Engage with alumni by highlighting their achievements and contributions through posts and stories
  • Organize and manage the email inbox for alumni@belmont.edu, ensuring that emails reach the relevant team member.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Alumni Office as needed, including answering the office phone, covering the front desk and assisting with key alumni events.
  • The position will mostly be in the Foutch Alumni House, with occasional opportunities for remote work.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn) and basic knowledge of social media management tools.
  • Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Creative and detail-oriented with a passion for storytelling and digital content creation.
  • Prior experience with graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus but not required.
  • If you have experience in graphic design and/or content creation, you will be asked to include pieces of your portfolio as a part of the interview process.
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University. Ideal candidates have a major or strong interest in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Prior communication and/or social media experience is preferred but not required.
