Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for Dr. Phillips Center, promoting performances, programs, community initiatives, and the Arts For Every Life® mission to generate awareness, interest to drive attendance and ticket sales.
  • Stay informed on arts center activities, upcoming shows, education programs, community partnerships, and special events.
  • Attend local community events, festivals, activations, and outreach opportunities (primarily evenings and weekends), creating a welcoming, fun, and energetic presence.
  • Proactively approach individuals and groups, initiate conversations, build rapport, answer questions, and create positive first impressions of the organization.
  • Act as a storyteller and community connector, sharing the impact of the arts center through engaging and authentic conversations.
  • Read audiences and social dynamics effectively, adjusting messaging, energy, and engagement strategies to connect with diverse groups and maximize participation.
  • Distribute promotional materials throughout key Orlando-area neighborhoods, campuses, businesses, restaurants, residential communities, and partner locations.
  • Represent Dr. Phillips Center during select performances and events by supporting audience engagement activities before and after shows.
  • Capture high-quality photos, videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content during community activations and events for use across Dr. Phillips Center social media and marketing channels.
  • Identify and document engaging community stories, audience reactions, and moments that highlight the impact of the arts center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required; bilingual or multilingual a plus.
  • Naturally outgoing and confident engaging with people from all backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to initiate and sustain conversations, build relationships quickly, and make others feel welcomed and valued.
  • Strong public-facing presence with experience interacting with large crowds, audiences, or community groups.
  • Passion for the performing arts, arts education, community engagement, and cultural experiences.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to communicate organizational impact in a compelling and authentic way.
  • Ability to read people, assess engagement opportunities, and pivot communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences.
  • Social media savvy with experience creating or capturing engaging visual content for digital platforms.
  • Strong organizational, written communication, and time-management skills.

Preferred

  • Bilingual or multilingual a plus.
