Own and scale ColourPop's organic content engine across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, leading strategy, creative direction, and community activation.

  • Own content strategy for each channel
  • Drive data-driven decision making and fast iteration
  • Lead creator briefs and always-on community programs

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the Content Engine — Every Channel as Its Own Media Channel. Lead organic content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, treating each as a distinct media channel with its own audience, format language, and reason to exist. Build content plans that drive engagement and fandom — not batch-and-post cycles — and set a clear POV on what ColourPop should be known for on each platform.
  • Function as a Hybrid Art Director. In collaboration with brand + creative leads, ensure visual consistency and direction across all social content. Brief creators to a specific aesthetic vision, review and push back when the work isn't there yet, and partner closely with Creative to keep content consistent with the brand across every channel.
  • Curate, Don't Just Publish. Program the feed with intention — sequencing, pacing, copywriting, and mixing content so each platform builds a story over time. You have a point of view on what belongs and what doesn't, and the discipline to leave things on the cutting-room floor.
  • UGC Roster & Community Management. Bring the ColourPop community back to life through a managed roster of devoted Colour Lovers who create, advocate, and amplify. Set the strategy for how the roster is sourced, curated, and activated — an always-on content engine and curated community
  • Build Cultural Cachet. Make ColourPop mean something in culture — show up at the right moment, in the right format, with the right creator, before anyone else gets there. You understand how cultural heat is built and compounded, and you have a track record of doing it.
  • Lead Trend Detection & Activation. Build a real trend radar — sounds, formats, creator behavior, competitor moves — and turn it into a weekly activation shortlist the team executes within 48 hours. Know the difference between a trend worth jumping on and noise, and make that call fast.
  • Data Driven. Track engagement, saves, shares, reach & EMV — and use them to make better decisions the following week. Come to every business review with a clear story: what the data says, what it means, and what we do next.
  • Build the Playbooks. If a process doesn't exist and it should, create it. Own the frameworks for content planning by channel, trend activation, creator briefing, community management, and campaign extension into organic social.
  • Multi-Hat Mentality. You don't clock out at the edge of your role. When something needs to get done, you do it — and you're energized by the range.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years in social media, content creation, or content strategy — with at least 2 years managing people or a team. Beauty industry experience required.
  • Beauty Obsession & Taste. You have a genuine point of view on the beauty category — who's doing it well, what converts, and what resonates visually.
  • Content Creation & Curation Fluency. You deeply understand how great social content is made and curated. You can create hands-on when the moment calls for it, and — more importantly — you can direct creators to a standard and program a feed that builds fandom. Your portfolio shows content you've shaped, directed, and have made yourself.
  • Platform Expertise — IG, TikTok & YouTube. You live on all three as a student of each. You understand what drives performance at a mechanical level on every platform, why the same content shouldn't run identically across them, and how to build a channel-specific strategy that engages community and spots a rising trend before it has a name.
  • Content Planning for Engagement & Fandom. You know how to build a content plan that does more than post — it deepens community, earns saves and shares, and turns followers into fans. You can articulate the purpose of every piece and how each channel's plan ladders up to the brand.
  • Hybrid Art Direction. Genuine aesthetic vision. You can art-direct a creator shoot, write a tight brief with a specific visual POV, review to a bar, and partner with Creative so content stays on-brand and consistent.
  • Community Builder. You know how to build and sustain a devoted brand community — not just grow a follower count. Experience managing ambassador programs, UGC rosters, or always-on community ecosystems strongly preferred.
  • Tools Fluency. Comfortable in Figma and Canva for briefing and lightweight design, and in a social planning platform like Dash Social (or similar) for planning and scheduling. Familiarity with Creator IQ, Rival IQ, and ShopMy for creator, competitive, and commerce workflows.
  • Numbers Fluency. You find the real story in engagement and performance data and can walk a room through what it means and what we do next.
  • Fast. 48-hour cycles, not 2-week timelines. Speed is a skill you've built deliberately.

Benefits

  • ColourPop offers a competitive benefits package including vacation time, health benefits, 401k + 100% match, paid holidays, product discounts and more.
