Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, design, and schedule two to three organic and sponsored social media posts each week, promoting Leading Edge programs, initiatives, research, and announcements across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, in alignment with our brand voice and content calendar.
  • Identify social-friendly clips from long-form video content and write captions for staggered publication, producing one to two reels or video clips each month.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated social media content calendar aligned with campaigns, research releases, events, and key organizational moments.
  • Partner with the Senior Communications Associate to plan, launch, and manage paid social media campaigns on LinkedIn and Meta Business Suite, including audience targeting, budget pacing, ad creative and copy, A/B testing, and ongoing optimization.
  • Respond to comments and messages in a voice consistent with Leading Edge's tone.
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and platform changes, and recommend adjustments to keep Leading Edge's presence current.
  • Produce monthly quantitative and qualitative reports on social content performance.
  • Coordinate with the communications team on priorities, deadlines, and revisions, and be available during core hours (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET).

Requirements

  • An experienced, versatile copywriter who can learn and adapt to an organization's voice quickly, producing publication-ready copy with limited revision.
  • Fluent in how different social platforms work, and thoughtful about how the same story should shift in tone and format across them.
  • Creative and proactive, with a steady stream of ideas for how to bring Leading Edge's work to a wider audience.
  • Highly organized and self-directed. You manage your own time effectively, work independently, and consistently deliver strong work on deadline.
  • Comfortable collaborating with a small, growing communications team while owning your own workflow.
  • Open to using AI tools thoughtfully to support your workflow and adapt to evolving needs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for a brand, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
  • Excellent written English and a strong command of narrative and voice.
  • Hands-on experience managing paid ad campaigns on LinkedIn and Meta Business Suite, including setting up campaigns, defining audience targeting, monitoring budget pacing, and adjusting spend and creative based on performance data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
