Job Description

Company Overview:

Headquartered in Boulder, CO, “I and love and you” makes premium pet food super approachable. Equally focused on cats and dogs, we’re bringing good, clean, functional food (and treats) to all the places their humans shop.

Position Overview:

The Sr. Financial Analyst, Demand Planning & Forecasting, sits within the Finance organization and owns the end-to-end demand planning process — from SKU-level forecasting through the monthly S&OP cycle. This role bridges the gap between commercial forecasting and operational planning, ensuring that what we expect to sell is grounded in both financial reality and supply chain feasibility. You'll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations while reporting to the FP&A Manager. This is a highly visible individual contributor role that requires detail-oriented analysis and planning in addition to cross-functional communication.

Demand Forecasting & Financial Planning

  • Own and maintain SKU-level demand forecasts across all channels — ecommerce (Amazon, Chewy, DTC), direct retail (Albertsons, Kroger, Publix, Meijer, Walmart, etc.), and distributors (UNFI, KeHE) — on a rolling 12-month basis.
  • Translate the demand plan into revenue and volume projections that tie directly to the company's financial forecast and annual operating plan.
  • Build cross-functional relationships, layering in sales intelligence, promotional activity, new item launches, seasonality, and market trends.
  • Report on and strive to improve forecast accuracy metrics and provide regular reporting to Finance and leadership on performance vs. plan.
  • Develop channel-specific demand signals, recognizing the different replenishment rhythms and data sources across DTC, marketplace, and brick-and-mortar channels.
  • Incorporate POS and sell-through data from key retail partners (SPINS, Circana, etc.) to build demand plans that reflect consumer pull, not just shipment history.
  • Partner closely with the Sales team to gather bottom-up customer-level intelligence — new distribution wins, promotional calendars, reset activity, and customer-specific inventory dynamics.
  • Partner with Supply Planning to translate the demand plan into actionable input for inventory, procurement, and production.
  • Lead the monthly Demand Review as part of the company's S&OP cycle — prepare materials, facilitate the meeting, document decisions, and drive accountability on action items.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain, ensuring the demand plan is both financially aligned and operationally executable.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field
  • 4+ years of demand planning, financial analysis, and/or forecasting experience
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills with modeling and reporting experience – ability to summarize and analyze large data sets using Lookups, Sumifs, Pivot Tables, etc.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.
  • Familiarity with Demand Planning/Trade Promotion Management software
  • High level of “ownership” of your work and attention to detail
  • Written and verbal communication skills – experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Motivated self-learner who enjoys complex, new challenges, but also knows when to pause and ask for help

Working Conditions

  • The position is remote but will require occasional travel to Boulder, CO, for team meetings (less than 10%).
  • “I and love and you” is a casual work environment where pets are always welcome.
  • The compensation includes base salary + target annual bonus with a competitive benefit package.
