Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supports public relations, communications and storytelling strategies that enhance the power of the Henry Ford Health brand.
  • Develops relationships with subject matter experts and identifies impactful stories with potential to generate earned media and other opportunities across audiences.
  • Pitches stories to media partners; creates and curates press releases, news articles, media advisories, social media, and other digital content.
  • Fields media requests in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Identifies meaningful ways Henry Ford Health experts can contribute to local and national conversations and helps the team measure success.
  • Works with other communications, marketing and consumer experience colleagues to highlight positive news coverage and assist with executive communications.
  • Committed to personal growth and career development, with a focus on advancing the health and well-being of the community.
  • This position reports to the Manager, Public & Media Relations Strategy.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Public Relations, Communications, or related field from a four-year college/university, or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in public relations, communications, or related field
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional oral, written, and digital communication skills
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent people skills; works effectively with a broad cross-section of leaders
  • Critical Thinking: Able to distill and communicate complex medical and other concepts to broad audiences
  • Mindset & Approach: Passion for storytelling, natural curiosity, and a collaborative client-partner orientation
  • Work Style: Able to manage multiple projects, accounts, and complex issues with a focus on strategy, innovation, creativity, attention to detail, and accuracy
  • This position reports to the Manager, Public & Media Relations Strategy.
