Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Content & Scheduling: Assist in drafting, designing, and scheduling social media content (graphics, captions, videos)
  • Social Media Content & Scheduling: Help maintain the monthly social media calendar
  • Social Media Content & Scheduling: Support the creation and formatting of Instagram Stories, Reels, and TikToks
  • Social Media Content & Scheduling: Assist in assigning and collecting internal content (e.g., video clips, quotes, team takeovers)
  • Platform Management & Engagement: Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions; respond as needed
  • Platform Management & Engagement: Help flag or escalate critical comments or PR concerns
  • Platform Management & Engagement: Research pro-life news, current events, and digital trends to help identify relevant content
  • Platform Management & Engagement: Track basic engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments, reach) for reporting
  • Media Support: Attend occasional PLM events to capture content for social media (photos, videos, behind-the-scenes)
  • Media Support: Help organize and archive social media assets (photos, footage, graphic templates)
  • Media Support: Support the Social Media Manager and Director of Marketing with campaign content and seasonal initiatives

Requirements

  • Agreement with and passion for the mission of Protect Life Michigan
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X/Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Basic familiarity with Canva or willingness to learn; bonus if familiar with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong written communication skills with a sharp eye for spelling, grammar, and tone
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and responsive
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time flexibly
  • Experience with content creation (e.g., personal or organizational social media, school projects, campaigns) is a plus

  • Protect Life Michigan is a support-raising organization. The salary and all expenses associated with this position will be fundraised by the candidate. Protect Life Michigan will provide training and coaching in order to help the candidate reach full support and will pay the candidate while they raise support.
  • We have an excellent track record of helping job candidates reach full support: 85% of our candidates have reached full support within 2-3 months.
  • You will complete support raising prep work over the first 1-3 weeks, then you will attend a support raising bootcamp around week 4 of your employment with PLM.
  • Subsequently, you will spend the next 6-13 weeks support raising before beginning your job duties.
