Job Description

  • Under the manager’s direction, create bilingual EN-JP content that supports corporate and sales goals across promotions, advertising, PR, events, and community initiatives for Sake School of America and Miyako Sushi and Washoku School.
  • Write, edit, and translate ENJP content for websites, social media, newsletters, flyers, catalogs, and internal/external communications with consistent voice and branding.
  • Lead content planning and regular updates for company websites and social channels, ensuring timeliness, engagement, and alignment with branding.
  • Collaborate with the PR Graphic Designer to develop integrated campaigns and visual content (flyers, web banners, editorials) supporting promotions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional PR campaigns and events (JFRE, anniversaries, press conferences, school initiatives) with internal teams, vendors, and external partners for timely execution.
  • Maintain and update the product catalog with new highlights in collaboration with Sales and Purchasing.
  • Support HQ-to-branch communication, especially for community PR and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Plan and execute community-based events and cultural activations (nonprofit collaborations, food festivals, local sponsorships) to ensure brand presence and engagement.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and announcements; maintain organized media, vendor, and community contact lists.
  • Attend Company meetings and events, including after-hours, and perform other duties as assigned to meet deadlines.
  • Native-level English; business-level Japanese with preferred native proficiency in reading/writing/speaking/listening.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; adaptable to changing assignments and workload.
  • Vision requirements including color and depth perception; willingness to complete Sake Adviser and Shochu Adviser certifications within 1 year.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, PR, or related field; 4+ years in PR, content creation, or communications.
  • Basic knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress, GoogleSite).
  • Basic familiarity with Canva and visual content collaboration tools; knowledge of Japanese foods and foodservice trends.
  • Social platforms familiarity (Instagram, Facebook) and scheduling tools; awareness of current social media trends.
  • Working knowledge of design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; intermediate MS Office.
