Social Media Manager

Responsibilities

• Own Wanderboat’s Social Channels
• Manage the day-to-day strategy and execution of Wanderboat’s social channels across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and X.
• Maintain an organized content calendar, publishing schedule, and consistent posting cadence.
• Tailor content to each platform’s formats, audience behavior, trends, and distribution mechanics.
• Create Social-First Content
• Create engaging content around dining, local discovery, travel, city exploration, lifestyle experiences, and AI-powered discovery.
• Own the full content workflow, including research, ideation, scripting, hooks, captions, filming, editing, thumbnails, publishing, and iteration.
• Turn product updates, user stories, local insights, and longer-form materials into platform-native short-form content.
• Capture and edit content featuring product demos, restaurants, city experiences, user scenarios, team moments, and relevant trends.
• Be comfortable working behind the camera and appearing in content when appropriate.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on social media experience for a consumer-facing product, brand, or media company.
• Experience managing business-owned social channels, especially TikTok and Instagram.
• Strong short-form video, copywriting, storytelling, and visual-content skills.
• Ability to independently take content from idea to publication.
• Hands-on experience with filming and video editing.
• Strong understanding of social trends, platform formats, audience behavior, and organic growth.
• Ability to use performance data to improve content.
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Interest in food, travel, local discovery, lifestyle, AI products, or consumer apps.

Preferred

• Experience with consumer apps, lifestyle brands, travel, food, hospitality, or local discovery.
• Experience working with UGC, creators, influencers, or community content.
• Familiarity with CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Figma.
• Understanding of TikTok and YouTube search, keywords, captions, hashtags, and social SEO.
• Experience using tools such as Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social.
