Position Overview

Epic Story Studios is seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and organized Social Media Management Assistant to support the execution of the company’s social media strategy.

This position is designed to assist the Social Media Manager with content preparation, scheduling, research, engagement, organization, and reporting. The Social Media Management Assistant will not be responsible for developing the full social media strategy but will help bring the strategy to life through consistent execution and administrative support.

The ideal candidate is dependable, tech-comfortable, creative, and able to follow direction while helping the brand stay consistent, professional, and active online.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, availability, and final scope of work. This role will be structured as a monthly retainer of $250.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Social Media Manager in preparing and organizing content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and other approved platforms.
  • Assist with creating, formatting, and scheduling social media posts according to the approved content calendar.
  • Prepare captions, hashtags, image copy, and post drafts for review and approval.
  • Help organize graphics, videos, reels, brand assets, templates, and content folders.
  • Assist with light Canva, CapCut, or similar design and video editing tasks.
  • Research relevant hashtags, social media trends, author communities, audiobook topics, competitor activity, and content ideas.
  • Monitor social media pages for comments, messages, tags, and engagement opportunities.
  • Flag important messages, inquiries, leads, or customer comments to the Social Media Manager or Founder.
  • Assist with light engagement, including liking, commenting, responding to approved comments, and engaging with relevant accounts.
  • Help repurpose existing content from blog posts, website copy, testimonials, videos, service descriptions, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with preparing monthly performance summaries by gathering basic analytics such as reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth, and top-performing posts.
  • Maintain organized content files, calendars, posting records, and social media assets.
  • Proofread captions, graphics, and scheduled posts for grammar, spelling, links, dates, and brand consistency. Follow all brand guidelines, confidentiality requirements, and platform access rules.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and basic caption-writing skills.
  • Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools.
  • Basic short-form video editing skills using CapCut, Canva, Instagram Reels, or similar tools.
  • Ability to follow a content calendar and meet posting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organization and file management skills.
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual style.
  • Comfortable using Google Drive, shared folders, project management tools, or scheduling platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Ability to work independently after receiving direction.
