Job Summary

Own hands on community marketing and event activation for a regional sports org, coordinating social content, outreach, and post event impact.

  • Event and activation ownership: plan, support, and recap community events and promotions across youth and parks initiatives.
  • Content and social: create and schedule posts, capture assets at events, and write captions for social channels.
  • Outreach and coordination: research opportunities, contact organizers, and keep outreach details organized for timely follow ups.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support USTA NorCal events, community activations, programs, and promotional opportunities
  • Take photos and videos at events for social media, newsletters, websites, and promotional materials
  • Help plan social media content, write captions, schedule posts, and support posting
  • Help find content ideas tied to USTA NorCal events, Heritage Months, youth and community programs, parks and recreation initiatives, and major sports or cultural moments
  • Track basic social media performance, such as reach, impressions, likes, shares, comments, and follower growth
  • Research community events, school events, festivals, park programs, sports activations, and partner opportunities
  • Help contact event organizers about possible participation, tabling, activations, or partnerships
  • Assist with keeping event outreach and activation details organized, including contacts, deadlines, status updates, and follow-up notes
  • Help prepare event materials such as signage, giveaways, checklists, and promotional items
  • Support post-event recaps by organizing photos/videos, gathering highlights, and summarizing key takeaways

Preferred

  • Experience creating social media content, reels, short-form videos, captions, or event recaps
  • Experience volunteering, working, or participating in community events
  • Familiarity with content scheduling tools, analytics dashboards, Canva, Google Sheets, or project trackers
  • Interest in sports marketing, youth development, parks and recreation, or community outreach
