Job Summary

Assist in building and distributing accessible cybersecurity content while activating live events and speaking engagements under CEO guidance, turning complex topics into clear posts and coordinating small-scale events to boost brand presence.

  • Content & Social: schedule, post, and monitor platforms to engage cybersecurity audiences.
  • Events & Speakers: plan webinars and local meetups, coordinate speakers, venues, and logistics.
  • Impact & Learning: track basic engagement and feedback to inform future efforts.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Help create, schedule, and post engaging content across major platforms where our cybersecurity audience is most active
  • Assist in maintaining the social media content calendar tied to product launches, campaigns, and industry news
  • Translate technical cybersecurity topics into clear, engaging posts for a broad audience with CEO guidance
  • Monitor channels, respond to comments and messages, and flag relevant industry conversations
  • Support tracking of basic performance metrics and engagement trends to share with the CEO
  • Create simple graphics and short videos using user-friendly tools like Canva
  • Support planning and execution of webinars, meetups, conferences, and customer events
  • Assist with vendor, sponsor, and venue communication under CEO direction
  • Help promote events across social channels and through email outreach
  • Prepare event materials, signage, registration lists, and follow-up communications

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Marketing, Communications, PR, Event Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field is a plus
  • No prior professional experience required — coursework, volunteer work, school clubs, or personal social media projects are welcome examples of relevant experience
  • Must be located in the Sarasota, FL area with reliable transportation
  • Interest in cybersecurity, technology, or startups
  • Familiarity with common social media platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with support
  • Availability to work occasional evenings (a few times per month) to support events
  • Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow professionally
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; basic Canva skills a plus
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude that thrives in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred

  • Experience with social media marketing or event planning
  • Basic Canva skills a plus
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in related fields is a plus
