Job Summary
Own end-to-end short-form content for social channels, from on-site shooting to full edit, with culture-aware storytelling that performs on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
- On-site shoots in Indianapolis (2–3 hours, monthly per client) and deliver ready-to-post assets on deadline
- Lead concepting and storytelling that tie brand messages to current cultural moments, collaborating with the Social Media Manager on direction
- Edit every shot into a polished package (color, cuts, captions, audio sync) optimized for each platform
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Film and edit short-form video content for Instagram Reels and TikTok — vertical, native, scroll-stopping
- Capture photo content that feels authentic and on-brand, not overly staged
- Edit all content you shoot — color grading, cuts, captions on screen, audio sync, the whole package
- Stay plugged into trending audio, memes, cultural moments, and platform shifts and bring those ideas to the table proactively
- Ideate fresh concepts that connect brand messaging to what's actually happening in culture right now
- Collaborate with our Social Media Manager on creative direction and shot lists, then execute independently on-site
- Deliver polished, ready-to-post assets on deadline every time
- Shoots are typically 2-3 hours on location in Indianapolis, roughly once or twice a month per client; deliver edited assets within an agreed turnaround time
Requirements
- You're genuinely obsessed with social media — you're not just consuming it, you're studying it
- You have a strong point of view on what makes content work and you can articulate it
- You understand storytelling — not just pretty visuals, but content that takes someone on a journey and makes them feel something
- You're fast, scrappy, and resourceful on set — you don't need a full crew to get great content
- You can shoot on iPhone and/or camera and the output looks intentional either way
- You edit everything you shoot — CapCut, Premiere, or whatever gets the job done
- You understand the difference between content that performs on TikTok versus Instagram versus Facebook and you adjust accordingly
- You're reliable, communicative, and easy to work with on set
Preferred
- Experience working with multiple brands or clients across different industries
- Familiarity with Canva for basic graphic overlays or text treatments
- Experience directing non-professional talent (business owners, staff, customers) to feel comfortable on camera
- A personal social media presence that shows your eye and your voice
