Job Summary

Own end-to-end video editing across long-form and short-form for social, shaping hooks, pacing, and platform ready assets.

  • Own the full cycle from raw footage to posted content, including captions, banners, and thumbnails for YouTube, Reels, TikTok, Shorts, X, and paid ads.
  • Manage the production queue, flag blocks, and iterate cuts using retention signals to maximize watch time.
  • Shape topics and hooks to drive scroll-stopping performance across multiple formats.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Edit long-form video (YouTube episodes, podcast appearances, interviews). Cut dead space, tighten pacing, keep people watching.
  • Cut finished short-form clips from that footage, or from other source material, for IG, TikTok, X, and Shorts.
  • Help pick what gets made next. Bring your own angles, topics, and hooks.
  • Own the queue. Chase down raw footage, move it from filmed to finished to posted, flag anything stuck.
  • Add captions, banners, and graphics that look like they belong on the platform.
  • Build and maintain a thumbnail template so every long-form upload looks consistent.
  • Edit video ad creative for paid social when it comes up, then hand the finished files to the paid ads team to run.
  • Speak up when a hook's wrong or a clip's buried in the wrong spot.

Requirements

  • Real reps editing both long-form (podcast, YouTube, interview) and short-form (Reels, TikTok, Shorts).
  • Fluency in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve for long-form, CapCut or similar for fast, native-feeling shorts. The finished clip is what matters. Use whatever gets you there.
  • An eye for pacing. You can watch raw footage and know within seconds whether a moment is a clip.
  • A caption or banner that looks "designed" gets scroll past. Native beats polished.
  • Comfortable reading view-through and retention data, and adjusting the next cut based on what it says.
  • Organized enough to run your own production queue and help build the brief as you go.
  • Fast, reliable communication. If something's blocked, you say so right away.

Nice to have

  • An AI-assisted clipping tool in your workflow (Opus Clip, Descript, Submagic, or similar).
  • Basic thumbnail or graphic design (Canva or Photoshop).
  • Motion graphics in After Effects.
