Job Description

The Aspen Group (TAG) is one of the largest and most trusted retail healthcare business support organizations in the U.S. and has supported over 20,000 healthcare professionals and team members at more than 1,300 health and wellness offices across 48 states in four distinct categories: dental care, urgent care, medical aesthetics, and animal health. Working in partnership with independent practice owners and clinicians, the team is united by a single purpose: to prove that healthcare can be better and smarter for everyone. TAG provides a comprehensive suite of centralized business support services that power the impact of five consumer-facing businesses: Aspen Dental, ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers, WellNow Urgent Care, Chapter Aesthetic Studio, and Lovet Pet Health Care. Each brand has access to a deep community of experts, tools and resources to grow their practices, and an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality consumer healthcare experiences at scale.

As a reflection of our current needs and planned growth we are very pleased to offer an opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Senior Vice President, Head of Communications. The Senior Vice President, Head of Communications is the enterprise steward of The Aspen Group’s (TAG) narrative, reputation, and employee voice. This leader defines how TAG shows up internally and externally across a diverse, high-growth portfolio of healthcare brands, ensuring clarity, trust, and alignment at scale. This role sits at the intersection of brand, commercial strategy, culture, and change. The SVP provides senior-level counsel and direction during moments of transformation, growth, and reputational risk, ensuring clarity, consistency, and confidence in how the company shows up.

Enterprise Narrative & Communications Strategy

  • Serve as the architect and steward of TAG’s enterprise-wide communications strategy, ensuring consistency and clarity across brands, audiences, and channels.
  • Translate commercial, brand, and business strategy into clear, human communication that leaders, team members, clinicians, and partners can understand and act on.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Commercial & Brand Officer to align communications with go-to-market strategy, brand positioning, and growth priorities.
  • Act as a senior advisor to the CEO and executive team on enterprise messaging, narrative framing, and high-stakes communications.

Internal Communications & Organizational Alignment

  • Oversee internal communications for a 20,000+ person workforce spanning multiple brands, care settings, and geographies.
  • Support a modern internal communications ecosystem that delivers the right message, through the right channels, at the right moments.
  • Create shared context during periods of change - operating model shifts, growth initiatives, transformation programs - so teams understand the “why,” not just the “what.”
  • Elevate leadership communication at all levels and strengthen frontline connection to TAG’s mission, values, and commercial priorities.

External Communications & Reputation Management

  • Oversee enterprise external communications, including corporate messaging, executive positioning, media strategy, and thought leadership.
  • Shape and protect TAG’s reputation across earned, owned, and shared channels, in close partnership with Brand, Marketing, and PR leadership.
  • Ensure internal and external narratives are tightly aligned, reinforcing credibility, trust, and brand integrity.

Crisis, Issues & Change Leadership

  • Serve as the seniormost communications counselor during crises, issues, and reputational risk moments.
  • Anticipate emerging risks and guide leaders through high-stakes decisions with sound judgment and calm execution.
  • Lead change communications efforts with a deep understanding of how change impacts adoption, engagement, and trust.
  • Act as official company spokesperson where required.

Digital, Social & Real-Time Engagement

  • Own enterprise social care and real-time engagement strategy, treating digital channels as an extension of the patient and employee experience.
  • Leverage social listening and employee feedback to inform broader communications strategy, operational insights, and brand decision-making.
  • Ensure the organization shows up with empathy, accountability, and consistency in public and internal conversations.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and develop a high-performing communications organization (~20 professionals) spanning internal communications, corporate communications, crisis/issues, reputation management, and social care.
  • Build modern communications capabilities that scale with a growing, multi-brand portfolio.
  • Foster a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, and excellence under pressure.
  • Navigate complex, matrixed stakeholder environments to build alignment and drive outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 20+ years of communications leadership experience, including building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-level communications strategies aligned to commercial and business objectives.
  • Exceptional ability to help leaders define messages that are clear, concise, persuasive, and credible.
  • Deep experience providing trusted counsel to senior executives within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong change management orientation, with demonstrated success supporting transformation and adoption.
  • Data-driven mindset, with experience leveraging metrics and insights to guide strategy and measure impact.
  • Experience navigating healthcare-adjacent environments (healthcare, retail healthcare, services, or regulated industries) strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with high attention to detail.

TAG - The Aspen Group

When we launched Aspen Dental, we set out to break down the barriers that made it hard for patients to keep up with their dental health — affordability, transparency, and access. We knew the key to better patient care started with the provider, so we changed how the dental business worked. We built new relationships, expertise, and tools to help dentists run their businesses more effectively and better care for their patients. Fast forward, and over 25 years later, we’ve launched more than 1000 Aspen Dental locations—by doing so, we are proud to say we have changed access to dental care nationwide. But there’s more work to do. Healthier, happier smiles were just our beginning. We come together to launch TAG – The Aspen Group, and we are officially expanding beyond dental to embrace a new vision. As we transform Aspen Dental, Chapter, ClearChoice, WellNow, and Lovet into one family, we’re setting out to achieve one simple goal together: to bring better healthcare to more people - because we believe in a future where health and wellness is accessible for all. While our vision now is broader, how we achieve it remains the same. The best care starts with the provider, and TAG exists to power them so they can meet patients where they are, no matter their specialty, and deliver better care. Because we know that at the end of the day, better healthcare is simple — empower the provider and their teams and the rest will follow.United as one group, we’re not just breaking down barriers, today we’re breaking through. We’re challenging the status quo. Together we can prove healthcare can be better for both providers and patients. Together we can bring better healthcare to more people.
