Responsibilities

• Drive technical and content SEO strategies and communications for direct-to-consumer brands
• Oversee the Initial Discovery Package process for clients and use results to inform the strategy for ongoing SEO consulting work
• Draw up Whitecap SOPs for current work processes, analyze, and optimize for peak agency efficiency
• Coach the SEO team, review work, and synthesize analysis and results in final reporting
• Lead by example by introducing the latest in SEO trends, strategies, and working practices
• Work closely with our clients to ensure smooth delivery of projects
• Define the Whitecap team of tomorrow by helping develop junior SEO team members, supporting account managers in their understanding of SEO, and informing future hiring decisions

• You are a skilled communicator who can take the complexities of technical SEO and communicate them effectively to those with less knowledge, including clients and team members.
• You have a thorough understanding of the ecommerce space, and possess both the hard and soft skills necessary to support respected consumer brands in their SEO goals.
• You are deeply invested in the success of your team, and have a knack for shaping the development and growth of junior team members.
• Proven SEO results drawing up and consulting on strategy for multi-million dollar direct to consumer brands
• Strong understanding of ecommerce performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
• Strong understanding and experience with Google Analytics, including sharing monthly and quarterly reports in a digestible format
• Expert knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms

Preferred

• Agency experience, ecommerce-specific especially
• Shopify, Shopify Plus, Magento, or BigCommerce platform experience
• Development experience
• Agile / Scrum methodology knowledge
• Successful track record of leading a remote team
