Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write quality, error-free press releases, media alerts, pitches, bylined articles, blogs and thought-leadership pieces
  • Expertly pitch national and local broadcast, print, digital and trade media with a strong understanding of audiences and news cycles. Develop PR campaign strategies that align with clients’ overarching business objectives and support broader marketing or communications goals
  • Confidently meet with new clients to fully understand their brand voice, messaging priorities and objectives, translating insights into compelling media materials
  • Effectively delegate tasks among PR team members, while ensuring quality, consistency and deadlines
  • Maintain and leverage relationships with media contacts to drive client coverage
  • Take initiative on tasks with minimal direction and proactively provide ideas and recommendations
  • Train. mentor and provide feedback to PR specialists and interns, supporting skill development and growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-5 years of PR experience, including earned media media strategy and pitching
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Strong writing skills
  • Established relationships with media at the local and/or national level
  • Restaurant and/or hospitality industry experience is a plus
