Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension)

Hourly Rate(35 hours/week): W2 $65-75/hour; C2C/1099 $76-90/hour

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who will support a client Digital Service team in planning, tracking, and delivering high-quality web projects and digital features on time. This role will oversee the full project lifecycle, serve as a key communication link between internal and external stakeholders, manage delivery timelines, facilitate issue resolution, and help teams stay aligned to project objectives.
Duties:
  • Work with the team to define project objectives and create and maintain a detailed work plan.
  • Lead and manage team tasks and establish a communication cadence with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor project activities, document agreements, communicate updates to stakeholders, and escalate issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Set up and manage user stories in Azure DevOps projects.
  • Manage quality assurance testing according to city process.
  • Manage and execute the software release process.
  • Interface with technical teams and support delivery coordination across planning, development, testing, and release activities.

Mandatory Qualifications:
  • 8 + years’ experience managing web projects.
  • 8 + years’ of experience delivering quality websites and web features to launch.
  • 5 + years’ experience in software delivery best practices with proficiency in Azure DevOps or a similar system for ticketing and issue resolution.
  • 2+ years’ experience coaching teams and driving outcomes.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with leadership, subject matter experts, and decision makers cross-functionally and across teams.
  • Knowledge of agile ways of working and modern software development practices.
  • Experience setting up project management tooling for teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience managing quality assurance testing according to city process.
  • Experience managing and executing software release processes.
  • Experience interfacing with technical teams.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Background in journalism, writing, or marketing with keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with SEO.
  • Proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS), including AEM, and SEO tools.
  • Understanding of common project management tooling such as Airtable, Azure, Jira, or similar platforms.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources.

Educational & Certification Requirements:
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification
  • If the candidate has a PMP certification, certification documentation should be supplied at submission.
