Job Summary

Own and drive high-end branded video and multimedia storytelling for The Atlantic’s Re:think studio, shaping concept-to-delivery across formats while coordinating cross‑functional partners, budgets, and external vendors.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Production Leadership: Lead the execution of branded video and multimedia campaigns, from concept through delivery.
  • Creative Brief Development: Develop and refine briefs that align client goals with The Atlantic’s editorial sensibility.
  • Creative Direction: Shape scripts, storyboards, and overall creative direction, maintaining a strong point of view.
  • Collaboration & Partners: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, brand partners, and external vendors to realize the vision at the highest level.
  • Client Communications: Present concepts and deliverables, articulating rationale and managing feedback with clarity and authority.
  • Production Operations: Manage timelines, budgets, and logistics across multiple projects, identifying risks and resolving challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Advising: Advise design, media strategy, and project management on workflows and best practices.
  • Vendor Leadership: Source and lead external production vendors, from editors to DPs to animators.
  • Workflow Scaling: Establish efficient workflows to scale production systems within the Re:think team.
  • Travel & Production Needs: Travel domestically and internationally for production as required.

Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of experience producing branded video or multimedia content at an agency, media company, or creative studio.
  • A portfolio of polished work that demonstrates both creative range and ownership of execution.
  • You move fluently between creative ideation and execution.
  • You’re a confident communicator who can lead client calls, pitch ideas, give feedback, and align stakeholders across functions.
  • You are comfortable operating independently, balancing creative ambition with budget and timeline constraints.
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple productions without compromising quality.
  • You have experience leading external vendors and guiding teams through all phases of production.
  • You understand what makes an idea feel distinctly Atlantic, and how to translate that into branded storytelling across formats.
  • You are adept at translating stakeholder input into clear, actionable decisions.
  • You’re proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented—able to identify better ways of working and elevate the overall output of the team.
