Job Summary

Own editorial coordination for a major arts site by aligning a web content team around timely programs, launches, and brand voice across the site.

  • Editorial operations: Lead a Web Content team, manage freelance writers, and ensure a steady flow of high quality, on brand copy.
  • Publication cadence: Build and track copy and launch timelines with Marketing and Programming teams, routing drafts for approvals and publication.
  • Content strategy and governance: Create seasonal narratives and maintain master descriptions and artist bios for consistency across experiences.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Manage the day-to-day work of a collaborative Web Content team, including the Website Content Manager and Digital Content Producers
  • Lead daily team meetings to manage workflow and ensure coordination; Guide prioritization and editorial support, as needed.
  • Project Management: Build copy and web launch timelines with the Marketing Director and Web Content team
  • Route draft copy to stakeholders and deliver final copy to the web content team for publication
  • Oversee the intake of requests for new web content and updates
  • Collaborate with various internal teams (including Marketing, Copywriters, and Programming) for programming web announcements, ensuring projects remain on track
  • Writer Management: Assign and edit the work of freelance copywriters and route to appropriate stakeholders for approval.
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with Marketing Director to develop editorial narratives for seasonal programming series, including American Songbook, Big Umbrella Festival, and others.
  • Present content plans, campaign concepts, and web experiences to internal stakeholders.
  • Editorial Excellence: Ensure consistency of brand voice, style guidelines, and quality standards across all published materials on the website, according to AP Styleguide

Requirements

  • 5+ years in editorial management, digital content management, and marketing—ideally within arts, culture, media, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Experience managing a team, running daily standups, and overseeing workload distribution.
  • Familiarity with Monday.com preferred.
  • Experience managing a team of freelance writers; experience partnering with marketing, programming, creative, and freelance contributors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Performing Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have

  • Passion for the performing arts and experience in the entertainment industry and/or non-profit sector is preferred.
  • Experience developing editorial narratives, campaign messaging, and content frameworks for seasonal or programmatic initiatives.
