Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and execute BIO’s social media strategy across platforms, including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Develop and publish short-form copy and platform-native content that translates complex messaging into clear, engaging digital communications.
  • Monitor real-time news and policy developments to inform timely and strategic digital responses.
  • Oversee week-to-week website content responsibilities, including editorial updates, issue page coordination, and campaign integration.
  • Ensure digital properties reflect organizational priorities, particularly during high-visibility moments such as Convention and major advocacy campaigns cycles.
  • Direct and manage external agency partners (creative, paid media, and digital execution), ensuring deliverables are on time, on strategy, and on brand.
  • Serve as the internal digital lead for day-to-day coordination with agency teams.
  • Support development and execution of integrated advocacy and communications campaigns.
  • Translate policy and advocacy messaging into effective digital formats.
  • Coordinate across Communications, Government Relations, Policy, and Membership teams to ensure transparent workflows and unified messaging.

Requirements

  • 5+years of experience in communications, public affairs, or digital strategy;
  • Experience working within a trade association, public affairs, or member-driven organization preferred.
  • Email marketing systems (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics/GA4)
  • Basic CRM or member/advocacy database management (segmentation, lists, tagging)
  • Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or similar)
  • Civic and stakeholder management platforms (Quorum, VoterVoice, or similar)
  • Social media publishing and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite, or similar)
  • Familiarity with basic HTML formatting within CMS platforms
  • Strong short-form copywriting skills and ability to adapt messaging for different digital platforms

Preferred

  • Agency experience is a plus
