Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own on-site conversion end to end for a $1Billion+ e-commerce brand. Find where the revenue is leaking, and decide what changes.
  • Role Overview: own on-site conversion rate optimization with authority over the experimentation roadmap, UX and merchandising direction, purchase-journey design, and the optimization backlog, reporting directly to the VP Digital Experience & Conversion.
  • This role exists to convert behavioural and quantitative data into revenue the business can bank, building the hypothesis pipeline, testing standards, and prioritisation system that let conversion improve without executive attention on every decision.
  • It is a senior individual-contributor seat with no direct reports, where influence comes from evidence.
  • The Problems You'll Own: - Primary : Grow conversion on a site that already converts: A three-person analytics team owns the data infrastructure and pipelines, so tracking and reporting are already built — you start with clean data, not six months of tagging. The site receives high traffic supported by $2M+/month in digital advertising, but test duration depends on eligible traffic, conversion rates, and the size of the effect being measured and a tenth of a percent is material revenue — but mattresses are high-consideration, signal per visitor is thin, and a premium brand standard sets the bar every test has to clear. The problem is deciding what to test, in what order, and being right often enough that Revenue Per Visitor moves.
  • - Secondary: Make the commercial levers earn their place: Pricing presentation, comparisons, bundles, upsells, promotional messaging, trust signals, and risk reversal have the most direct line to Revenue Per Visitor, and are most often set by habit, not evidence. Each carries a brand cost if pushed too hard on a premium product. The work is establishing which of them move a high-consideration buyer, and at what intensity.
  • The Career Accelerator
  • Your first 12 months: build the prioritized optimization backlog and the logic that ranks it. Run the experimentation roadmap end to end — hypothesis, experiment design, implementation, QA, launch, analysis, validation. Rebuild the mobile purchase journey around viewport priority, information hierarchy, and progressive disclosure. Restructure pricing, comparisons, bundles, upsells, trust signals, and risk reversal against conversion evidence. Set the testing standards Design and Development work against. Cross-reference paid-media performance against on-site behaviour to find where the next conversion opportunity sits. Shape the future of conversion optimization at Puffy, where on-site performance decides the return on $2M+/month in digital advertising.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on CRO and e-commerce analytics in high-traffic environments, with measurable revenue impact from experimentation.
  • Advanced GA4 analytics (funnels, custom explorations) plus behavioral tools (Hotjar, FullStory, Clarity), turning user data into hypotheses.
  • End-to-end A/B and multivariate testing on Optimizely, VWO, or Convert, with statistical rigor: sample sizing, significance, common pitfalls.
  • Strong visual and UI judgment: spot weaknesses in hierarchy, imagery, layout, and interaction, and give designers clear, actionable direction.
  • Deep mobile-first CRO: viewport priority, information hierarchy, progressive disclosure, sticky interactions, page density, conversion-path friction.
  • Premium DTC design and merchandising sense, balancing brand perception, visual quality, consumer clarity, and conversion performance.
  • Commercial acumen across pricing psychology, comparisons, bundles, upsells, trust signals, risk reversal, and conversion copywriting.
  • Self-service analysis in BI tools such as Looker or Tableau to investigate performance, analyze segments, and build hypotheses.
  • Advanced AI use across CRO research, behavioral analysis, hypothesis development, visual concepts, and competitive analysis — embedded in your process, not occasional assistance.
  • Strong ownership and communication to run concurrent initiatives and present data-backed insights to senior leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience with high-consideration DTC brands, particularly sleep, wellness, or comfort products.
  • Experience with Shopify or Shopify Plus.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating behavioral and transactional data.
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for test implementation and debugging.
  • Experience with advanced segmentation, customer lifetime value analysis, or predictive modeling.
  • Background in performance marketing or paid media analytics.
