Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write and oversee the development of compelling copy across catalog, print, digital marketing, social media, email, web, video, and additional marketing channels.
  • Create engaging headlines, calls to action, and customer-facing messaging that supports consumer engagement and brand growth.
  • Develop and execute copy that aligns with brand voice, assortment strategies, seasonal trends, and marketing objectives.
  • Build strategic Creative Briefs that guide the development of innovative content across brands and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal creative teams and external agency partners to concept and execute integrated marketing content.
  • Direct and support messaging development for both high-production and low-production video content.
  • Evolve and maintain copy standards, tone of voice guidelines, and brand style consistency across all customer touchpoints.
  • Edit, proofread, and fact-check copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, clarity, and adherence to AP style and company standards.
  • Mentor junior copywriting talent by providing coaching, constructive feedback, and creative guidance.
  • Continuously evaluate copy performance and apply a “test and learn” mindset to improve engagement, messaging effectiveness, and customer response.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of copywriting, content development, or brand storytelling experience in an in-house creative team or agency environment.
  • Experience managing complex, high-visibility creative projects across multiple marketing channels.
  • Background in retail, fashion, consumer products, or lifestyle branding preferred.
  • Experience writing for both print and digital marketing platforms, including SEO, social media, email, and product marketing.
  • Familiarity with InDesign, Mac OSX, Asana, Google Enterprise, and Ziflow preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of AP style, grammar, punctuation, and copy formatting standards.
  • Strong understanding of brand voice development, messaging hierarchy, and effective marketing communication strategies.
  • Ability to shift seamlessly between conceptual campaign writing and product-focused selling copy.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities simultaneously.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
