We are seeking a Senior Content Designer with strong foundational game design expertise and demonstrated experience implementing narrative-driven content. This role is responsible for translating narrative direction into meaningful, playable gameplay experiences that reinforce player agency and support the overall creative vision.

You will collaborate across the entire development team, working in particularly close partnership with the Design Director and Narrative Director to ensure narrative content is implemented cohesively, functions seamlessly within gameplay systems, and aligns with the project’s core design pillars.

\nKey Responsibilities:
  • Implement narrative content—including dialogue systems, scripted sequences, quest logic, and environmental storytelling—directly in engine
  • Translate narrative direction and written materials into fully playable content aligned with gameplay systems, pacing goals, and production constraints
  • Apply strong core game design principles to ensure narrative features support mechanics, player motivation, and overall experience design
  • Partner closely with the Design Director and Narrative Director to ensure narrative implementation supports the game’s core design pillars and story vision
  • Collaborate broadly with designers, writers, engineers, level designers, artists, audio, and production to integrate narrative elements across all gameplay spaces
  • Serve as the connective tissue between narrative intent and gameplay execution, ensuring dialogue flow, player choice logic, triggers, and world interactions function cohesively
  • Own content implementation from initial setup through iteration, polish, debugging, and optimization
  • Integrate audio assets, props, scripted events, and gameplay triggers to create immersive narrative moments
  • Identify and resolve implementation challenges, edge cases, and narrative-design friction points that impact player experience
  • Provide feedback and implementation guidance to other designers to maintain consistency, quality, and alignment with project vision
  • Maintain clear documentation to support collaboration, clarity, and long-term maintainability
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of professional game development experience, including shipping at least two titles from concept through launch
  • Strong understanding of core game design principles, including player motivation, feedback loops, progression systems, and gameplay pacing
  • Demonstrated experience implementing interactive storytelling systems, such as branching dialogue, scenario logic, quests, or environmental narrative
  • Ability to integrate narrative content within broader gameplay systems rather than treating it as standalone story delivery
  • Extensive hands-on experience with one or more game engines and development languages, visual scripting experience necessary
  • Experience providing constructive feedback and guidance to designers while maintaining alignment with overall creative direction
  • Ability to self-direct, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality work without close supervision while adhering to production schedules
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in debugging gameplay logic and content implementation issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Deep understanding of how narrative systems support engagement within modern game design
Plusses:
  • In-depth experience with Unreal Engine, particularly Blueprint scripting
