The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to help architect 120/80 GROUP’s technological future. This role sits at the intersection of frontier AI systems and real-world healthcare applications, combining deep technical expertise with strategic execution in a highly regulated, privacy-sensitive environment.

You will lead the development of proprietary AI infrastructure, internal copilots, and agentic workflow systems that automate complex research, communications, and market intelligence workflows across healthcare and life sciences. Working closely with executive leadership, you will help define and execute our AI roadmap while ensuring 120/80 GROUP remains a leading technical partner in AI-driven healthcare communications and marketing.

What You’ll Do

Lead Our Technical AI Stack:

• Own and evolve 120/80 GROUP’s AI stack across frontier and open-source models (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Llama, Qwen, DeepSeek), including agentic workflows, RAG systems, MCP integrations, fine-tuning, and internal copilots.
• Build autonomous AI systems that streamline research, media synthesis, competitive analysis, content strategy, and operational workflows.
• Develop and maintain custom internal tools that integrate with the agency’s broader technology ecosystem to accelerate speed, quality, and strategic output.

Product Innovation & Security:

• Engineer client-facing AI products including predictive sentiment dashboards, market intelligence tools, and strategic analytics platforms.
• Architect privacy-first AI environments that meet HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, and broader healthcare compliance requirements.

Strategic Leadership:

• Partner with executive leadership to define and prioritize the firm’s AI roadmap and long-term technical strategy.
• Serve as the primary technical voice in high-level client engagements, translating complex AI capabilities into clear business value for healthcare stakeholders.
• Mentor internal teams on AI literacy, agentic workflows, and modern AI development tools including Claude Code and Codex.
• Establish strong governance, testing, and data quality standards to ensure AI-driven outputs remain scalable, reliable, and technically sound.

What You Bring:

• Deep familiarity with the rapidly evolving AI landscape, including frontier model ecosystems and emerging open-source tooling.
• Proven experience building autonomous, multi-step AI systems and production-grade agentic workflows.
• Strong understanding of modern LLM infrastructure including orchestration, RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and model deployment.
• Healthcare or life sciences experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with biomedical data and HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to operate effectively across technical, executive, and client-facing environments.
• A builder’s mindset with a strong bias toward experimentation, execution, and continuous learning.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000/yr
