Responsibilities

• Media Relations
• Develop and maintain relationships with media
• Draft and distribute press releases, media alerts, pitches, and byline articles
• Assist with fielding and managing inbound media inquiries; support in coordinating and staffing interviews, site visits, and press stays
• Help track media coverage and compile regular reporting on placements, reach, and sentiment
• Assist in identifying, vetting, coordinating, and managing on-property media visits, press tours, and FAM trips to secure earned media coverage and positive exposure; track deliverables and performance
• Strategic Communications
• Assist in the development of PR strategies and campaigns that align with overall marketing and business goals and seasonal priorities (openings, renovations, culinary launches, events, luau/entertainment programming)
• Draft key messaging and talking points for spokespeople
• Partner with Marketing on integrated campaigns spanning earned, owned, and paid channels

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in the Marketing/Communications industry (hospitality industry essential)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with Canva, Cision, Meltwater, and Muckrack is a plus
• Strong writing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and brand voice
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable coordinating with internal teams, media, and vendors
• Basic understanding of the media landscape and social/digital content trends
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to track multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Eagerness to learn PR strategy and grow within the marketing and communications field
• Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
