Lead North American PR by shaping local strategy, owning media relations, crisis management, events, and acting as the company’s spokesperson to secure top-tier coverage and protect reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive PR and communications strategy tailored to the North local market (primarily US).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key regional media (English‑language), and industry analysts.
  • Lead all media outreach, including press releases, press conferences, media briefings, and exclusive interviews.
  • Secure high-quality, positive media coverage in top‑tier local market publications (e.g., WSJ, NYT, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, The Globe and Mail) and broadcast channels.
  • Proactively identify and manage potential PR crises and issues, protecting the company’s reputation in the local market market.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on PR campaign results and media mentions.
  • Organize and manage PR events, from press launches to corporate announcements.
  • Act as the company’s local spokesperson and manage all media inquiries with professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a PR role, with a minimum of 3 years specifically focused on the local market.
  • Existing and demonstrable relationships with key media outlets across the US and Canada ( tech, business, and lifestyle press).
  • English speaker – excellent written and spoken command of English.
  • Deep understanding of the local market media landscape, social norms, cultural nuances, and business etiquette.
  • Knowledge of regional differences (e.g., US vs. Canada) and awareness of current social‑political and economic trends in North America.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to act as a confident and effective company spokesperson.
  • Strong existing network of local media and relevant stakeholder contacts.
  • Experience in crisis management and issues resolution.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
  • Results‑driven with a portfolio of successful PR campaigns in the local market.
