Public Relations Manager - Korean/English Bilingual

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute U.S. PR strategies that support COSMAX’s business priorities, reputation, and brand awareness.
• Build and maintain relationships with national, regional, trade, business, beauty, and Korean American media.
• Identify and pursue media opportunities, including interviews, contributed articles, speaking engagements, and company or industry coverage.
• Write, edit, and review press releases, media pitches, executive statements, talking points, speeches, FAQs, and other communications materials.
• Adapt corporate messages for U.S. audiences while ensuring alignment with COSMAX’s global positioning and headquarters’ guidance.
• Monitor media coverage, industry developments, and emerging issues; advise internal stakeholders on potential risks and opportunities.
• Develop and coordinate crisis and issues communications, including response plans, holding statements, and internal escalation processes.
• Plan and manage press events, product or business announcements, executive briefings, and other PR activities.
• Partner with U.S. leadership and cross-functional teams to identify newsworthy developments and ensure communications are accurate and consistent.
• Collaborate with the PR team at Korean headquarters, providing regular updates and recommendations on U.S. media, stakeholder expectations, and local market trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field required
• 7–10 years of professional experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations in the United States.
• Experience in both an agency and an in-house environment is preferred.
• Excellent English writing and editing skills, including experience producing press releases, media pitches, executive communications, and issue-response materials.
• Professional Korean proficiency sufficient to communicate with headquarters and translate or review communications materials.
• Established relationships with U.S. journalists and media contacts, including experience working with national, regional, trade, and Korean American outlets.
• Demonstrated ability to develop communications plans, manage media outreach, and handle sensitive or time-critical issues.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across time zones.

Preferred

• A degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• Experience supporting a Korean company’s U.S. business or representing a Korean brand in the United States.
• Experience in beauty, consumer products, food, entertainment, technology, automotive, or another relevant industry.
• Experience in crisis communications, reputation management, or executive communications.
• Familiarity with media monitoring and measurement platforms such as Cision or Meltwater.
• Experience with social media, influencer relations, content marketing, and event production.
• Firsthand experience navigating cultural and business differences between Korea and the United States.
