AMPP's Public Relations Internship offers hands-on PR experience with responsibilities spanning drafting materials, media outreach, monitoring industry news, and cross-team collaboration. You will track coverage, conduct research, and contribute to campaigns while developing communication skills. The role is part-time, remote, and suited for marketing or communications majors seeking practical, real-world experience.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Draft press releases, media pitches, blog posts, and social media content.
  • Develop and maintain media lists, assist with journalist outreach, and track coverage using Meltwater and Google Alerts.
  • Track AMPP and industry news across traditional and digital media; summarize findings in daily/weekly reports.
  • Participate in team brainstorms and communications planning meetings; contribute creative ideas for campaigns.
  • Conduct background research on media outlets, influencers, and industry trends to support PR initiatives.
  • Assist in developing visuals, graphics, and messaging for social media and digital platforms via Canva.
  • Partner with marketing, digital, and creative teams to ensure message consistency across channels.
  • Research topics, draft outlines, and organize content for board presentations, staff updates, and speeches.

Requirements

  • Up to 20 hours per week (part-time during the academic semester)
  • This position is ideal for a marketing or communications major entering their junior or senior year
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and current trends
  • Professional demeanor and ability to meet deadlines
