Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assists with preparing and distributing public relations materials utilizing various online and software programs.
  • Creates printed and digital graphics in a variety of formats reflective of the Library’s official branding and style.
  • Photographs or films Library collections, programs, services, events, and edits as required.
  • Maintains an archive of Perrot Memorial Library’s publicity from print and electronic media.
  • Assists in the development and execution of public relations campaigns, programs, and events.
  • Keeps current in public relations, graphics, marketing, and social media trends.
  • Coordinates content for and updates the Library’s website.
  • Assists with the logistics of library-sponsored events.
  • Responds to inquiries from vendors, community partners, and patrons.
  • Organizes, files, stores, and retrieves documents whether electronic or paper.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in public relations, communications, or closely related field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • three (3) years of work experience supporting the public relations and marketing campaigns on behalf of an organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public relations, communications, and marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated proficiency with cloud-based social media tools, photo/video editing, and graphic design
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and in the use of audiovisual equipment, social media platforms, and other industry-related software
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with library staff, patrons, and community groups
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
