Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Writing and editing press releases, media alerts, pitches, and client communications
  • Building and maintaining targeted media lists across local and regional outlets
  • Proactively pitching stories and securing earned media coverage (TV, print, digital, radio)
  • Assisting in the management of multiple client accounts with strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members or interns
  • Assisting with event planning, media outreach, and on-site coordination
  • Collaborating with internal teams (digital, social, events) to ensure cohesive messaging
  • Monitoring media coverage and providing client reporting and recaps
  • Staying up to date on Philadelphia news, trends, and media opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • 1–3 years of public relations experience (agency experience and Philadelphia market preferred)
  • Proven ability to secure local media coverage
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients
  • Experience supporting or executing events is a plus
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok)
  • Self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
