Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Segmenting the markets with their respective niches to build a database with useful information to contact veterans.
  • Prepare a list of veterans interested in participating in business training or individual counseling.
  • Assist in coordinating facilities and the resources for the training.
  • Coordinate presentations in the community to present the opportunities for veterans offered the Center.
  • Identify the opportunities to increase the possibilities of capturing prospects for the program.
  • Coordinate contacts with the different media in Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands in order to promote the program.
  • Maintain a file with a log of assistance of all the services for the veterans provided by the Center.
  • Serves as coordinator for the partnership with veteran organizations in PR & USVI
  • Coordinate and execute program marketing plan and program communication strategies to recruit participants for the training events and personal counseling services.
  • Manage the VBOC social media page and website.

Requirements

  • Must have a competency in business assistance defined as holding a B.A. in business, preferably in Marketing, Advertising or Communications, or having prior work experience in this area.
  • Experience at reaching diversity media outlets and crafting diversity messaging preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communication practices and applications as well as familiarity with current online social media sources (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, blogging, other emerging technologies)
  • Established media relationships with diversity, trade, and mainstream media outlets preferred but not require.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to effectively interact with a diverse range of people
  • Must have an understanding of the military culture
