Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The PM will be responsible for marketing several new and/or existing Gowan-branded products.
  • They are the lead resource for everything related to their products, including marketing, supply chain, development, regulatory, and sales support.
  • The PM develops short- and long-term marketing plans and coordinates cross-functional teams within the organization to source needed plan information.
  • These marketing plans include pricing strategy, communication strategy (advertising and public relations), product specifications (packaging), and product positioning.
  • The PM will develop familiarity with the market(s) and competitive products to support the plans, educate the sales group on differentiation, and develop clear brand benefit messaging.
  • The PM has total responsibility for their products.
  • They report to the Director of Marketing and will work closely with sales and field development representatives to build company-wide commitment to the product plans.
  • As the architect of the brand and related active ingredients for the brand, the PM may be asked to participate in third-party meetings with suppliers, customers, and researchers to provide marketing input on brand reviews and new product licensing opportunities.

Requirements

  • minimum of three to five years' experience in marketing and/or sales within the crop protection industry
  • a bachelor’s degree in business, agronomy, or a related field
  • MBA preferred

  • Knowledge of market strategy, segmentation, and positioning
  • Entrepreneurial attitude
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% primarily domestic travel
  • A mix of specialty and row crop production knowledge
  • Ability to work with others to build consensus
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
