Job Description

Overview:
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, looks to hire a Summer Intern to join its Political and Federal Government Relations teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Federal Government Relations and Political teams with various tasks.
  • Attend Congressional Candidate Interviews.
  • Attend Capitol Hill meetings with team members.
  • Research small business policy issues and draft documents to support our advocacy and political efforts.
  • Help the Federal Government Relations team during NFIB’s annual Fly-In
  • Attend and write memos on Congressional Hearings.
  • Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Relations or a related subject.
  • 0-1 years of work experience.
  • Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week and come into the office (T/W/TH).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.
  • Interest in policy, political issues, and U.S. Federal government.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Pay Rate - $18.50 an hour
