Job Summary

Own the WVU Medicine Clinical Enterprise referral network, driving calendar-driven outreach, territory expansion, and ongoing relationship-building between primary care, specialists, and hospital leadership to boost referrals and patient access.

  • Outreach Ownership: Coordinate site visits and relationship-building with referring providers based on the marketing calendar.
  • Territory & Program Expansion: Manage assigned regions and scale efforts when opportunities are supported by enterprise initiatives.
  • Referral Growth & Leadership: Identify barriers and recommend programs to increase referrals and improve patient access.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates outreach efforts to the referral base for the Clinical Enterprise.
  • Coordinates outreach based on the marketing calendar. This outreach is executed by the liaison on behalf of the specialty physicians, services, facilities, and centers that comprise the Clinical Enterprise at WVU Medicine. POL both executes and manages recurring site visits to the referral base for the purpose of facilitating relationships between referring physicians (and their staff) and the specialty services at the clinical enterprise. Facilitates visits by WVU Medicine providers to referring specialists as appropriate.
  • Manages and executes outreach in the assigned territory. Territory expansion is contingent upon realistic requests, supported by realistic opportunities, from those within the Clinical Enterprise.
  • Offers updates to the referral base about programs, services, providers, and facilities within the Clinical Enterprise.
  • Facilitates referrals through the development of relationships between primary care providers and specialists.
  • Provides answers to questions or concerns about services and patient referrals.
  • Permits the development, maintenance, and expansion of relationships with referring provider office staff with the intent to enhance utilization of services and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains accurate call logs, and subsequent details, resulting from site visits.
  • Provides formal and informal updates to hospital and practice plan leadership of referral base issues.
  • Strives to develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the referral base; including issues affecting the community.
