Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Patient Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, production and maintenance of a region-wide patient communications strategy.
  • Patient communications is defined as content that positively influences how patients and visitors experience our care and facilities but has no clinical impact on patient care.
  • This role focuses on ensuring that patient communications are patient-friendly and brand-consistent.
  • Reporting to the Manager of Brand Experience and working as part of the Brand Experience team, this role supports specific patient communications-related initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to implement and maintain a seamless patient and visitor experience.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in patient communications, health care marketing or consumer communications is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree marketing, communications, public relations or journalism is required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to written, web and digital communication channels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to make sound judgements and problem solve effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience with electronic medical records systems (i.e., Epic), content management systems and digital technologies (e.g., mobile applications) is preferred.
  • Experience in using voice of customer feedback to improve communications is preferred.
