Responsibilities

Create, schedule, and edit social media content that reflects the Museum’s mission and interactive learning through play.
Draft and edit copy for marketing and communication materials, including email marketing messages, social media captions, blog posts, and website updates.
Capture moments through photo and video content to support digital storytelling and promotional efforts.
Support social media content design using basic design tools (such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite).
Collaborate with staff from all departments to identify and source content for storytelling.
Proactively engage with guests and explore the Museum in order to find and share stories that positively reflect our mission and impact.
Brainstorm unique content ideas to increase online visibility and engagement through digital channels.
Help maintain digital content calendars and ensure timely promotion of upcoming events, programs, and highlights.
Support special events, outreach efforts, and media opportunities, including behind-the-scenes prep and day-of coordination.
Maintain organized photo and media libraries.

Requirements

Shows a passion for and commitment to our mission, vision, and values.
Previous professional experience in social media, digital content creation, marketing, or communication is preferred.
Prior professional experience with digital and social media platforms and management tools and basic design programs (such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva) is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent creative design skills and understanding of design basics.
Team player with ability to collaborate and cooperate.
Great attention to detail.
Strong creativity and innovation.
Ability to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
